Nyicho Zangpo

 

Nyicho Zangpo is another trickster figure. In this collection, Nyi chos bzang po'i sgrung,

various contemporary authors contribute original tales, such as the following by Ngag dbang.

 

From the very outset of these tales, the reader knows that Nyicho Zangpo is up to no good. But the reader's knowledge stands in stark contrast to the gullible main character, here the King of Nedong. The suspense lies in how Nyicho Zangpo will perform the trick. Like Aku Tonpa, these tales culminate in a joke--this one alluded to in the title, Jewel Pisser.
